Matchbook Distilling Day Trip Peach Amaro Liqueur
Matchbook Distilling Day Trip Peach Amaro Liqueur is a seasonal, limited-edition fruit amaro from Matchbook Distilling Co. in Greenport, on the North Fork of Long Island, New York. It starts as a fermented peach wine made from Briermere Farms peaches, fortified with a distillate of peach leaves and finished with quassia, pink peppercorn, rose and elderflower. Bottled at 16% ABV in a 750mL bottle, it is a gentle, fresh-fruit amaro that earns its place among the most original American liqueurs on our shelves.

Peach Wine, Peach Leaves, and a Gentle Bitter Frame
Briermere Farms, Matchbook's beloved local orchard, made 1,000 lbs of 'seconds' peaches available — freshly picked but lightly blemished. Matchbook boiled them into a sweet, aromatic peach juice, fermented it with champagne yeast to an off-dry peach wine, and fortified it with a distillate of peach leaves — one of the distillery's prized discoveries, with big, intoxicating marzipan-like flavor. A fresh elderflower distillate (flowers picked from trees growing alongside the peach trees at Briermere), a few pounds of quassia, rose petals and pink peppercorn complete the build. Explore the wider amaro & bitters collection for more bitter liqueurs in this spirit, or the distillery's Matchbook Distilling Eldest Daughter Vermouth for another North Fork botanical project.
Tasting Notes
Fresh peach in clear focus — ripe stone fruit layered with the flavors of fermentation, the almond-marzipan depth of peach leaf, soft rose and elderflower florals, and a touch of pink peppercorn warmth. The quassia creates contrast and anchors the finish without pushing the bitter or the sweet too far.
How to Enjoy
Matchbook suggests it neat, or in a Bamboo riff — 2 parts Day Trip Peach Amaro to 1 part blanc vermouth with a lemon twist. It also shines over ice with soda as a low-ABV aperitif, and makes a distinctive Paper Plane variation. Find more aperitif components in our spirits range.
