Mars 'Tsunuki' Japanese Whisky 2022 Edition
Mars Tsunuki Single Malt Japanese Whisky is produced at the Mars Tsunuki Distillery in Kagoshima and aged for 3-4 years in 1st and 2nd-fill bourbon barrels. It has a peat level of 3.5 parts per million and has a nose of lemon cake and black tea accompanied by light smoke. The palate features flavors of orange marmalade, buttered toast, and cocoa nib, with a long finish of chocolate malt and lemon zest. This whisky is non-chill filtered and has an alcohol content of 50% ABV. It is a limited release in the US, with 2040 bottles available. The Mars Tsunuki Distillery, which was reopened in 2016, is located in the southern prefecture of Kagoshima and experiences more humidity and greater temperature fluctuations than the Mars Shinshu distillery in Nagano. This bottling is the third release from the Mars Tsunuki Distillery since its reopening and showcases the versatility of the Mars production range.
