Thirty-five years in Oloroso and Fino sherry wood does what nothing else can: deep amber with hints of dark gold, roasted almonds and dried dark fruits with creamy toffee on the nose, sherried fruit, dark chocolate, and raisins on the palate, and a lingering cinnamon-and-cocoa-powder finish — warm and decadent, in the distillery's own words. Six generations of the Grant family have owned Glenfarclas since 1865; among 35-year-old single malts, an all-sherry Speyside from one of Scotland's last independents is the definition of a milestone bottle.
