The age shows in the glass: vanilla bean, honeycomb, caramelized pear, and seasoned oak on the nose; butterscotch, dark toffee, roasted pecan, and baking spice with orange zest on the palate; and a long finish of toasted sugar, charred oak, dried cherry, and caramelized sugar. Among small-batch bourbons, Case Study: 06 is the connoisseur's pour — high proof, high age, tiny batch, no chill filtration dulling the texture.
