Don Julio 70 Dia de Muertos Limited Edition 2025
Don Julio 70 Dia de Muertos Limited Edition 2025 is the world's first clear añejo dressed for the holiday: Don Julio 70 — aged 18 months in American white oak, then charcoal-filtered to crystal clarity — in a 2025 Día de Muertos collector bottle designed by CFDA Men's Designer of the Year Willy Chavarría — and it is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor, San Diego, CA.
This is the second year of Don Julio's artist-collaboration series (launched 2024): Chavarría reimagined Día de los Muertos motifs with roses in his signature luxury-streetwear language for a bottle built to be kept. Inside is the identical, unchanged Don Julio 70 liquid — 100% Blue Weber agave from the Highlands of Jalisco, 18 months in oak, filtered bright, bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof) in this 750mL bottle.
Tasting notes: crisp, bright agave, vanilla, toasted oak, honey, and light citrus on the nose; a silky palate of caramel, agave, toasted almond, and warm spice; a clean, lingering finish with oak and citrus zest.
Why buy the 2025 edition? Because the tequila is the award-winning 70 (Gold, 2023 San Francisco World Spirits Competition) and the bottle won't be made again — two collectibles, one price. Browse the tequila collection, the Don Julio brand collection, and all spirits.
Serving note: serve neat in a copita or reposado glass — a clear añejo deserves to be seen as well as tasted. Pairs beautifully with mole and roasted squash.
Is the tequila different from regular Don Julio 70? No — the liquid is identical to the standard Don Julio 70. The limited part is the Chavarría-designed 2025 collector bottle.
What is a cristalino? An añejo tequila that has been charcoal-filtered after aging to remove color while keeping the oak-aged flavor — Don Julio 70 was the first.
What is the ABV? 40% ABV (80 proof), 750mL.
Who designed the bottle? Willy Chavarría, CFDA Men's Designer of the Year, reworking roses and Día de los Muertos motifs in his luxury-streetwear style.
