Master Blender Oliver Chilton wanted deep, dark sherry character without a simple finish — so he went all in on real solera. The base blend (Guyanese pot-and-column rum, Barbadian rum and Jamaican high-ester pot-still rum) is first aged in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, then rested in a three-tier solera of authentic solera casks that spent over 70 years in Jerez — barrels sherry producers almost never part with. Bottled at 46.2% ABV, non-chill filtered, with no added sugar and no flavourings.
Tasting notes (official, Black Tot): ripe figs, baked plums and bitter dark chocolate; velvety dark chocolate and coffee with tropical fruit on the palate; a long finish of dried fruit, warm spice and citrus.
