The Story
Cane juice rums from Martinique are usually met through the French AOC agricole tradition, which makes a single barrel selected by an American independent bottler a genuine curiosity. Bedford Park's team — two rum devotees working with the Main Rum Company in Liverpool — hunted down this cask for its balance of grassy agricole character and bourbon-barrel depth. It sits comfortably alongside the other single barrels in our rum collection, and collectors can set it next to the Bedford Park 13 Year Old Fiji Single Barrel Rum to taste two very different islands through one bottler's lens.
Tasting Notes
Fudge, vanilla custard and popcorn open the nose, with edible flowers behind. The palate turns floral and slightly earthy — dill, fennel and aniseed — before a bright lime finish.
How to Enjoy
Best neat or with a single large cube. Bottlings at this level belong in our rare and top shelf conversation — pour slowly and let the cane character lead.
