Zumbador Reposado Tequila is a 40% ABV (80 proof), 750mL reposado from 100% Blue Weber agave, additive-free, produced at NOM 1643 in the highlands of Jalisco. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor, San Diego, CA.

Zumbador means "hummingbird" — in Mexican tradition a symbol of joy and the soul's resurrection — and the López family, now in its fourth generation under master distiller Roberto López Anaya, farms roughly 1,000 acres and 1.5 million agave plants around El Sabino in Jesús María, in the Altos de Jalisco highlands nearly 2,000 meters up. Production stays resolutely traditional: agave steam-roasted in brick ovens, crushed by tahona and roller mill, wild-fermented in wooden vats and stainless steel, and double distilled in copper-and-stainless pot stills. The reposado then rests about 12 weeks in ex-American whiskey barrels — comfortably past the two-month legal minimum, just long enough to pick up warmth without burying the agave.

The nose leads with clean vanilla and caramel over cooked agave; the palate adds butterscotch, orange, and a gentle oak spice, with honeyed baking spice and citrus peel through the middle and a medium, lightly peppery finish that stays fresh rather than woody. It is a reposado that still tastes like the highlands. Browse the Zumbador collection and our full tequila range at Del Mesa Liquor.

Serving note: lovely neat as an after-dinner sipper, and a natural upgrade for Margaritas and Palomas where you want the barrel to whisper, not shout. Pair it with citrusy tacos and grilled seafood.

What does "Zumbador" mean? "Hummingbird" in Spanish — the bird is a symbol of joy, freedom, and the soul's resurrection in Mexican tradition, and the emblem of this fourth-generation family distillery.

Is Zumbador tequila additive-free? Yes. Zumbador is confirmed additive-free across the range — no added sweeteners, glycerin, flavourings, or colouring.

Where is Zumbador Reposado made? At NOM 1643 in Jesús María, in the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco, from the López family's own Blue Weber agave, double distilled in pot stills.

How long is it aged? About 12 weeks in ex-American whiskey barrels — beyond the 2-month minimum for reposado, keeping the profile agave-first with a light vanilla-and-spice accent.
