Wolfburn Langskip Scotch Whisky
Wolfburn Langskip Scotch Whisky is a 58% ABV (116-proof) unpeated Highland single malt, matured entirely in first-fill ex-bourbon casks and bottled at high strength — the distillery's most powerful expression, named for the Norse longships ("langskip") that once reached Caithness. The distillery touches it with a little water for a consistent 58% ABV, making it essentially cask strength without the cask-strength label. Order online from Del Mesa Liquor, San Diego, CA.

Wolfburn at Full Volume: 58% and First-Fill Bourbon Casks
Langskip is Wolfburn without the volume turned down. First-fill ex-bourbon casks deliver bourbon-barrel vanilla, coconut and toasted spice at full concentration, and the 58% ABV gives the spirit a weight that standard-strength malts can't match. It earned Double Gold at the Singapore World Spirits Competition (2019) and the FiftyBest (2018) — high-proof whisky judging panels tend to reward balance, and Langskip's comes from that clean unpeated spirit. Among scotch whisky drinkers who like their whisky loud, Wolfburn's Langskip has few peers at this price.
Tasting Notes
Rich and oily at strength — vanilla bean, honeycomb, cinnamon bark. Water is optional but rewarding: a splash brings out orange oil, malt biscuit and a long, warm oak finish.
How to Enjoy
Neat for the full 116-proof experience, or with a few drops of water to open the aromatics. Not a mixing whisky at this strength and price — this is a sipper.
