Heirloom Genepy Liqueur is an alpine classic rebuilt in the Midwest — 750mL at 51% ABV (102 proof), bright alpine botanicals mellowed with honey plus Sunflower, from Heirloom Liqueurs in Minneapolis, Minnesota — and you can order it online at Del Mesa Liquor, San Diego, CA.

  • ABV: 51% (102 proof)
  • Size: 750mL
  • Origin: Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
  • Producer: Heirloom Liqueurs (Bittercube) — recipe by Bittercube co-founders Nick Kosevich and Ira Koplowitz with R&D lead Brandon Reyes; produced at Lawless Distilling, Minnesota
  • Production: inspired by Artemisia (wormwood-family) plants; bright alpine botanicals mellowed with honey, plus Sunflower — a distinctly North American botanical; whole-botanical maceration, proof and sweetness balanced for sipping and mixing

Old-World Genepy, Minnesota-Born

Genepy is the alpine liqueur monks, farmers and explorers have made for centuries across Switzerland, Italy and France — verdant, springtime, built on Artemisia. Heirloom's version keeps the soul and adds a passport stamp: more than two dozen bright alpine botanicals, mellowed with honey, plus Sunflower, the distinctly North American botanical that makes this a Midwestern genepy rather than a European copy. At 51% ABV it carries real weight but drinks rounder and softer than old-world genepy — herbaceous and minty, mysteriously floral, citrus-friendly. Critic Anthony Dias Blue called it herbal and sweet with real complexity, smooth and well-balanced despite the high proof. Sip it neat, or deploy it the way the brand does — in a Champs-Élysées, a Bijou, a Last Word, or anywhere you'd reach for green Chartreuse. More botanical builds in the liqueur collection, all from Heirloom.

Tasting Notes

Herbaceous and minty with mysteriously floral, springtime aromatics; citrus-friendly. Rounder and softer than old-world genepy, despite the 102 proof — smooth and well-balanced.

How to Enjoy

Neat to taste the full alpine range, or in a Champs-Élysées, Bijou or Last Word. Works as a high-proof Chartreuse stand-in in cocktails.
