Corralejo Reposado Tequila is a 40% ABV (80 proof), 750mL reposado from Hacienda Corralejo in Penjamo, Guanajuato — 100% estate Blue Weber agave, double distilled in the Charentais method and rested 4 months in oak. The short rest tints it light straw and threads vanilla and honey through fresh agave, lemon-lime and peppercorn. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

  • ABV: 40% (80 proof)
  • Size: 750mL
  • Class: Reposado — rested 4 months in oak
  • Distillation: Double distilled, Charentais method (copper pot + column stills)
  • Agave: 100% Blue Weber, estate-grown in Guanajuato
  • Distillery: Tequilera Corralejo, NOM 1368, Hacienda Corralejo, Penjamo, Guanajuato

Four Months in Oak, Straight from the Estate

Corralejo does everything itself: the agave grows on the hacienda's high-altitude estate fields in mineral-rich volcanic soil, roasts slowly in traditional clay ovens, ferments with the house's own cultivated yeast and distils in copper pot and column stills imported from Tomelloso, Spain — then the bottles are blown in the estate glass factory and labelled by hand. The estate itself is the birthplace of Miguel Hidalgo (born 1753), father of Mexican independence, and one of the first haciendas in Mexico to sell tequila commercially. Four months in oak is a deliberate light touch for this reposado: enough for honey and spice, never enough to bury the agave. Explore the estate on the Corralejo vendor page, step up to the Corralejo Anejo for a full year's rest, or shop the tequila collection.

Tasting Notes

Colour: Light straw. Nose: Sweet vanilla and honey with spice and a hint of oak. Palate: Lemon-lime and peppercorn over honey, oak and cooked agave. Finish: Smooth and warm, medium-bodied.

How to Enjoy

Neat or on a single rock to taste the estate agave through the light oak — and a natural Margarita or Paloma reposado, where the peppercorn spice keeps the citrus honest.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is Corralejo Reposado aged? Four months in oak barrels, per the brand's official page — a short rest that adds vanilla and honey while keeping the agave forward.

What is the difference between this and the Triple Distilled Reposado? Distillation. This bottle is double distilled; the Triple Distilled Reposado takes a third pass (copper pot, column, copper pot) for a silkier texture. Both rest 4 months.

Where is it made? Hacienda Corralejo, Penjamo, Guanajuato (NOM 1368) — one of the few tequilas produced outside Jalisco.

Lightly rested and agave-led, Corralejo Reposado is available to order online from Del Mesa Liquor in San Diego, CA.
