The First Certified-Organic Single Malt
When Benromach launched the Organic expression in 2006 it was the first single malt certified organic from grain to glass — the UK Soil Association audits everything from the barley fields to the bottle. The 2010 vintage keeps the house recipe: virgin American oak from sustainably managed Missouri forests, spring water from the Romach Hills, and no peat in the malt (unlike the distillery's signature lightly peated 10 Year Old). The producer's notes promise sweet and malty aromas of vanilla, toffee and banana; a creamy palate of pepper and sweet fruit with ripe banana; and a medium floral finish.
