Tres Generaciones Anejo Tequila is the three-generation tequila — 750mL at 40% ABV (80 proof), 100% blue Weber agave, triple-distilled, and aged a minimum of 12 months in toasted American oak at the historic La Perseverancia distillery — and you can order it online at Del Mesa Liquor, San Diego, CA.

  • ABV: 40% (80 proof)
  • Size: 750mL
  • Aging: Minimum 12 months in toasted American oak barrels (añejo)
  • Production: 100% blue Weber agave; triple-distilled — one distillation per generation; fresh-press agave process
  • Origin: La Perseverancia distillery, Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico — NOM 1102; owned by Suntory Global Spirits
  • Lineage: Created 1973 to honor a century of the Sauza family's craft — the three Dons: Cenobio, Eladio, and Francisco Javier Sauza

A Century in the Glass

Tres Generaciones exists because of one family: Don Cenobio Sauza founded La Perseverancia in 1873, became the first distiller to call blue-agave spirit "tequila," and exported it to the United States first. The brand's triple distillation — one for each generation — and its fresh-press agave process (juice extracted before cooking) give the añejo its signature balance: deep amber, silky, and layered rather than oak-heavy. Shop the añejo tequila collection or the full tequila collection at Del Mesa Liquor.

Tasting Notes

Deep amber with golden hues. The nose opens with toasted oak, caramelized agave, and hints of vanilla and spice. The palate is silky and layered — butterscotch, dried fruit, roasted agave, peppery oak. The finish is long and warming with sweet spice and a gentle smoky fade.

How to Enjoy

Best neat or over a large ice cube in a snifter or Riedel tequila glass to appreciate the complexity. It also makes a premium Añejo Old Fashioned or Tequila Manhattan.
