A Family Brand From the Town of Tequila
The Navarro family of Jalisco — descendants of Spaniards who settled the region — bought an 1800s hacienda in Puente Grande and named it Hacienda Navarro; in 1990 the sons founded the Navarro Hacienda restaurants in Guadalajara, then decided to make their own tequila. Today's bottles come from NOM 1578 in the town of Tequila itself, made from Tequila Valley agaves left in the ground eight years to build sugar before harvest. (Older bottles once came from NOM 1466 — current production is NOM 1578.)
Tasting Notes
The nose is pure cooked agave — honest and unadorned. The palate stays true to it: sweet cooked agave with a hint of grape, finishing with prickles of peppery warmth. No barrel, no makeup; just agave, distilled clean.
How to Enjoy
Neat or over ice is the move for a blanco this straightforward — it is also a clean, honest base for a classic margarita or paloma. It belongs in any tequila lineup that values agave character over price tags, and the Hacienda Navarro Reposado and Añejo show what the same agave does with time in oak.
