Dos Hombres Mezcal

Dos Hombres is a 750ml Espadin mezcal at 84 proof (42% ABV), born in Oaxaca and raised in Hollywood — created by Breaking Bad stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul with third-generation master mezcalero Gregorio Velasco Luis of San Luis del Rio. The agave is 100% Espadin, grown in the Oaxacan hillsides and harvested at maturity, then roasted in volcanic-stone earth ovens, crushed by tahona stone wheel, fermented in wooden vats, and double-distilled.

This is artisanal mezcal made the traditional way — no shortcuts, no industrial column stills — and it shows in the glass: vibrant fruit up front with the gentle, complex smoke that only an earth-oven roast delivers. Whether you came for the celebrity names or the craft, the bottle earns its place. Serve it neat in a snifter or a traditional jícara to let it open up, or build a mezcal Old Fashioned or a smoky margarita.

Tasting notes: Crystal clear; tart green apple skins and caramelized agave on the nose, with ripe mango and Oaxacan zapote fruit behind; bright fruity sweetness on the palate melting into light, smooth smoke, white pepper, and a touch of cinnamon; a long, warming finish of black pepper and earth.

Frequently asked questions:

Who makes Dos Hombres? It is a collaboration between actors Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul and master mezcalero Gregorio Velasco Luis, produced in San Luis del Rio, Oaxaca (NOM O637-X).

What is Espadin? The most widely cultivated agave for mezcal — Agave angustifolia — prized for its balance of sweetness, fruit, and approachability. It is the classic gateway agave.

How is mezcal different from tequila? Both are agave spirits, but mezcal can be made from many agave varieties (tequila only from blue Weber), and traditional mezcal roasts the agave hearts in earth ovens, giving it its signature smokiness.
