Casa Vieja Anejo Tequila
Casa Vieja Anejo Tequila is a 40% ABV (80 proof), 750mL anejo tequila from Grupo Tequilero Mexico — 100% estate-grown Agave Azul from Arandas in the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco, aged 35 months in French oak barrels. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor, San Diego, CA.
Casa Vieja — "old house" — is estate tequila from a family-owned producer founded in 1997, growing, distilling, and bottling its own agave in Arandas at 1,500–1,700 meters, where reddish clay soils and cool highland nights build slow, sweet agave. Thirty-five months in French oak is nearly extra-anejo territory, and it shows: this is the trio's deep, amber, sipping expression.
Tasting profile: rich amber color with strong cooked-agave character; vanilla, pecan, almond, chocolate and wood with dried fruit on the nose and palate, and a smooth, full finish. Browse the Casa Vieja brand collection, more anejo tequila, and tequila at Del Mesa Liquor.
Serving note: neat in a snifter — 35 months of French oak deserves a slow pour.
