There is no added flavouring: the coconut character comes entirely from cask wood — sherry-seasoned American oak and ex-bourbon casks, selected for naturally high oak lactones, first-fill Quercus alba.
The 46.3% ABV is itself a playful nod to the coconut's three germination "eyes" (per the Whisky Brokers). On the nose: fresh coconut and coconut milk, zesty lime, lemon and orange citrus, mango, papaya, vanilla, almond, and sweet oak with hints of nutmeg and cinnamon. The palate brings sweet lime, lemon sponge, vanilla icing, desiccated coconut and coconut milk, dried tropical fruit, and gentle oak spice — finishing bright and floral with lingering coconut and soft spice. The Harmony Collection (launched 2021) was a five-year, six-release exploration of sustainability in packaging — each box made from natural by-products (cocoa husks, coffee, oak, tea, and now coconut fibres), this bottle presented in "King Coconut" colour. Crafted by the Macallan Whisky Mastery Team under Master Whisky Maker Kirsteen Campbell, launched alongside the international debut of TimeSpirit, the permanent dining experience at The Macallan Estate.
