The Distillery Edition series began in 2019 as Hampden's answer to its own legend — rum so funky it put Jamaica on the map — and each year's edition sells out. The Great House, built in 1779 by the Stirling family, stored rum on its first floor until the 20th century; today the series honors it. Expect the full Hampden assault: fermented pineapple and candied ginger on the nose, intense tropical fruit and liquorice on the palate, a touch of dried chili, and a finish of fine wood, nutmeg, cinnamon and a hint of camphor.
