Moncigale Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence Rose is a 12.5% ABV, 750mL dry rosé from Provence, France — built on the appellation's classic Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah, pale pink and fresh, with red berries, peach and white flowers over a mineral finish. Moncigale, founded in 1921 and a specialist in Provence rosé for a century, is one of the appellation's defining houses. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

A Century of Provence Rosé

Moncigale began in 1921 as Chais Beaucairois in Beaucaire, at the crossroads of Provence, the Languedoc and the Rhône, and built its name as an ambassador for Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence — brand material credits it with over a quarter of the appellation's production across its history, working with some 300 growers and cooperatives. Renamed Moncigale in 2008 under Marie Brizard, the house joined Boisset, La Famille des Grands Vins, in its centenary year, 2021. Its rosé method follows the Provence discipline: fruit harvested cool, pressed promptly and fermented at low temperature to protect the pale colour and fresh fruit. Find the house on the Moncigale vendor page or browse more rosé wine and French wine at Del Mesa.

Tasting Notes

Colour: Brilliant pale pink. Nose: Red and wild berries with peach and white flowers. Palate: Fresh and balanced — raspberry, ripe peach and floral notes on a dry, elegant frame. Finish: Clean, mineral and saline-tinged, as Provence rosé should finish. (Written generically from the confirmed appellation style — see flag.)

How to Enjoy

Serve well chilled, around 11°C, as an aperitif or with the Provence table: grilled fish, salade niçoise, ratatouille, aioli and anything with olive oil and herbs.
