Riazul Anejo Tequila
Riazul Anejo Tequila is a 40% ABV (80 proof), 750mL anejo aged two full years in French oak barrels previously used for XO Cognac — double the anejo minimum. It comes from Compania Tequilera de Arandas (NOM 1460) in the Jalisco highlands, from 100% Blue Weber agave grown on estate land founder Inaki Orozco's family has held for more than 200 years, in red volcanic soil at roughly 7,200 feet — among the highest agave ground in Jalisco. Cinnamon, spicy pineapple and banana on the nose; caramel, agave, almond and vanilla through a silky palate; a cinnamon finish. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

Riazul's bet is altitude plus patience: estate agave from some of Jalisco's highest fields, then two years in Cognac-seasoned French oak instead of the usual bourbon barrels.
