Rey Supremo Anejo Tequila is a 40% ABV (80 proof) añejo from Proveedora y Procesadora de Agave Tres Hermanos (NOM 1439) in Jalisco, Mexico — 100% blue Weber agave, autoclave-cooked, roller-mill extracted, fermented on deep-well water and double-distilled in stainless pot stills, then rested 18 months in American white oak barrels, well past the añejo minimum. A Gold winner at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, it pours copper with amber highlights and full, slow legs. A 750mL bottle. Order añejo tequila online at Del Mesa Liquor, San Diego, CA.

Eighteen Months in White Oak

Where many añejos stop at twelve months, Rey Supremo gives this one a year and a half in white oak — and it shows: a smoked, fruity aroma with hints of oak and vanilla gives way to sweet agave on the palate, mild vanilla and caramel through the mid-palate, and a finish of vanilla with a warm, rich mouthfeel. The brand's heritage copy tells of a family cultivating agave for decades despite 1930s-era expropriation, and the bottle wears fresh, modern labeling rather than a heritage costume.
