Reserva de la Familia is the Cuervo family's private reserve — tequila held back for family and close friends for generations, and only shared publicly in 1995, when the Extra Anejo was released for the family's 200th anniversary. The Reposado joined the line in 2020 for its 25th anniversary, bringing the reserve treatment to a younger expression: the same hand-selected agave and small-batch blending, rested across a three-barrel program of heavily and lightly toasted American oak and lightly toasted French oak, each component aged apart and married at the end. Tasting Notes
Per the brand: tropical fruit, clove and nutmeg, with a long, mellow finish; the brand's fuller notes add pepper, cooked agave, orange peel, ginger and toasted wood on the aroma, and vanilla alongside the tropical fruit on the palate. Wine Enthusiast found burnished gold colour, mild sandalwood and smoke on the nose, sandalwood and cedar over faint roasted agave on the palate, and a finish spiced with clove and black-pepper heat.
