Redwood Empire The Hyperion — Batch 001 is the inaugural release in a new annual limited series from California's No. 1 whiskey brand. This 750mL bottle is an unfiltered blend of straight whiskeys bottled at 55% ABV (110 proof), built from component whiskeys aged 7 to 14 years (no age statement on the bottle).
There is no traditional mash bill here — instead a "blend bill": 32% straight bourbon, 30% straight rye, 25% straight wheat whiskey, and 13% American single malt, drawn from roughly 79 barrels and more than 10 mash bills. Redwood Empire's own stocks join whiskeys from Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee — the single malt component distilled grain-to-glass by Redwood Empire itself — all matured in toasted, Char No. 3 barrels in Northern California. Master Distiller Jeff Duckhorn and Master Blender Lauren Patz crafted the inaugural batch, launched in fall 2026 at an SRP of $99.
The name honors Hyperion, the world's tallest known living tree — a coastal redwood standing 380.3 feet tall — continuing Redwood Empire's tradition of naming expressions for iconic redwoods. Every bottle sold plants a tree through the brand's "Buy a Bottle, We'll Plant a Tree" initiative with Trees for the Future: more than 1.8 million trees planted since 2019.
