An Appellation Blend From Russian River's Best Vineyards

Gary Farrell has made the Russian River Selection bottlings to capture the whole valley in one glass: fruit from the Rochioli and Bacigalupi vineyards in the fog-kissed Middle Reach, the Toboni vineyard on the cooler Santa Rosa Plain, and the Hallberg and McDonald Mountain vineyards up in the extreme cool-climate neighborhoods of Green Valley and Sebastopol Hills. The 2022 growing season was a fight — a cold, dry winter, April frost, a May hailstorm and an early August harvest — but it delivered concentrated fruit with vibrant acidity, and the blend is pure Gary Farrell: richness, purity and elegance. Tasting Notes

The nose opens with vibrant wild strawberry, raspberry preserves and pomegranate, layered with rose petal, violet, cinnamon, grated nutmeg, pink peppercorn and dried clove. The palate is silky and mouth-filling, balanced by the snappy 2022 acidity, with a long, spice-tinged finish that carries the dark cherry and sweet tobacco character of the vineyard blend.

How to Enjoy

Serve at 60–65°F after a 20-minute decant to let the aromatics open. This is a natural partner for roasted duck breast, cedar-plank salmon, mushroom risotto or a soft triple-crème cheese — and it's polished enough to pour on its own for a quiet evening.
