Opus One Overture 2022 is the second wine of Napa Valley's legendary Opus One estate in Oakville, California: a Bordeaux-style red blend in this 750mL bottle — and it is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor, San Diego, CA.

Created in 1993 as a home for the lots that don't make the grand vin, Overture was long a multi-vintage blend — but beginning with the 2021 release it moved to vintage-dated bottlings. The 2022 is 94% Cabernet Sauvignon with Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec, and Petit Verdot, from organically farmed estate vineyards; the 2022 harvest ran August 24 through September 26, after a season of early-winter rain and extreme harvest heat. The wine saw 20 days of maceration and 18 months in new French oak.

Official tasting notes: aromas of bright cherry, fresh forest berries, cut rose stems, violets, toasted almond, and anise; a palate of blackberry, blueberry, and wild cherry with lively acidity; a long, rounded finish of mocha and black tea.
