Announced in April 2025, it was created by lead whisky maker Euan Kennedy with the Roca brothers — Joan, Josep, and Jordi of the Michelin-starred El Celler de Can Roca in Girona, Spain — to capture Hong Kong's fusion of tradition and modernity. The whisky marries sherry-seasoned European oak hogsheads with hand-selected American oak casks. It arrives in a deep-blue presentation case inspired by the waters around Hong Kong. The Distil Your World series pairs Macallan's sherry-cask craft with the culinary world's most decorated talents, and the Hong Kong edition is its most allocated-limited U.S. release yet — an Asia travel-retail launch with a national U.S. rollout from September 2025, accompanied by the documentary Reimagining Spaces.
Tasting notes
Nose: dried spices, ginger, cinnamon, honey, antique oak, tropical pomelo and mango. Palate: grapefruit and umami notes over the sherry-oak core, with retailer-noted hints of soy glaze, sesame, jasmine tea, dark chocolate, and egg-tart pastry. (The Spirits Business official notes.)
