A Revolutionary Spirit
Los Arango is named for José Doroteo Arango — better known as Pancho Villa, the revolutionary leader. Brand lore holds that a Master Tequilero gifted an artisanal tequila to Villa during the Revolution, and he asked that the family name be put on it — hence the tagline, "A Revolutionary Spirit." The liquid backs the story: spiced caramel and oak on the nose, a rich palate of vanilla and green pepper with a touch of salinity, and a long, spicy finish. It earned Gold at the 2022 New York International Spirits Competition and 84 points at the 2021 Ultimate Spirits Challenge. Among Los Arango tequilas, the Añejo is the flagship sipper.
Tasting Notes
Nose of spiced caramel and oak; a rich palate of vanilla and green pepper with a touch of salinity; a long, spicy finish. The charred American oak shows as structure, not sweetness — this is a savory-leaning añejo.
How to Enjoy
Sip neat to catch the vanilla-pepper interplay, or pour it into an Añejo Old Fashioned where the salinity adds an unexpected savory edge.
