Facundo Eximo Rum is Bacardi's oak-forward answer to sipping rum — 750mL at 40% ABV (80 proof), aged 10–12 years in white oak barrels using the rare blended-before-aging method — and you can order it online at Del Mesa Liquor, San Diego, CA.

  • ABV: 40% (80 proof)
  • Size: 750mL
  • Age: 10–12 years in white oak
  • Method: Blended BEFORE aging — components were blended and put into barrel roughly a decade ago (unique in the Facundo line)
  • Origin: Puerto Rico — Bacardi's Maestros de Ron
  • Style: Oak-driven sipping rum, aimed at the whiskey and cognac drinker

Blended Before Aging, Ten Years in Oak

Eximo is the only expression in the FACUNDO Rum Collection blended before aging: Bacardi's Maestros de Ron married the component rums first, then laid the blend down in white oak for ten to twelve years. The result is the richest, most oak-driven sipper of the range — a rum built like a bourbon or cognac, with deep dry oak, toasted spice and polished sweetness. It is the line's answer for drinkers who reach for whiskey but want rum's warmth. Shop the rum collection at Del Mesa Liquor, browse more aged rums, or explore Facundo Rum.

Tasting Notes

Deep amber. Strong oak leads — deep, dry, almost smoky oak — with vanilla, caramel, toffee and butterscotch, bananas foster and dried banana, dried apricot and raisin, bittersweet chocolate and walnut, and a tobacco note that recalls old bourbon. The finish is long and warm, with lingering oak and polished sweetness.

How to Enjoy

Sip it neat or with one cube after dinner — this is an after-dinner pour by design. A splash of water opens the oak and chocolate layers if you like it softer.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does "blended before aging" mean?
Unlike most rums (aged separately, then blended), Eximo's components were blended first and then aged together in white oak for 10–12 years — a signature of this expression.

What is the alcohol content of Facundo Eximo Rum?
40% ABV (80 proof), in a 750mL bottle.

Where is Facundo Eximo Rum made?
In Puerto Rico, by Bacardi's Maestros de Ron, as part of the FACUNDO Rum Collection named for founder Don Facundo Bacardí Massó.

Is Facundo Eximo good for whiskey drinkers?
Yes — it is deliberately styled toward the whiskey and cognac drinker: rich, oaky and smooth, with an old-bourbon character on the nose.
