Oaxaca's Traditional Reposado
Lajita is made by Licores Veracruz in the old style: piñas roasted low and slow in earthen pits, crushed, fermented, and distilled, then rested in American oak casks that soften the edges without taming the spirit. The reposado keeps everything mezcal drinkers want — smoke, wild herbs, a mineral snap — and adds a roundness from the oak that makes it dangerously drinkable. It took Gold at the 2018 Mezcal Masters and Silver at the 2004 International Spirits Challenge, per the brand. Dive into our mezcal selection or browse the Lajita range.
Tasting Notes
Per the brand: clear golden hue, bright; a fresh, delicately herbal nose with smoky and mineral notes plus the maguey-worm character; soft, light, and balanced in the mouth with a lasting finish.
How to Enjoy
Neat in a copita, the traditional way — or with an orange slice and sal de gusano. The oak rest also makes it a compelling mezcal for an Old Fashioned riff.
