1921 Tequila Blanco is a 750mL tequila bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof), made from 100% Blue Weber agave grown on the brand's estate in the red soils of Los Altos, the Highlands of Jalisco, and bottled unaged for the purest read on the agave. Double distilled and finished by hand — each bottle is wax-sealed and carries a hand-painted clay medallion, a nod to the brand's founding story. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

The Highlands, Bottled Unaged

Casa 1921 was born in 1996, created by a group of tequila aficionados to make 100% agave ultra-premium tequila, and named for 1921 — the concluding year of the Mexican Revolution. The brand tells of a hidden cellar found during the renovation of Hacienda La Colorada, holding bottles of exceptional tequila hidden for some six decades behind a near-illegible clay label; the hand-painted medallion on every bottle commemorates that find. The Blanco is the range at its most transparent: estate-grown Blue Weber from the red highland soils of Los Altos, double distilled and bottled without oak, so the sweet agave and herbal character arrive untouched. Tasting Notes

Per the brand: bright and crystal-clear; the nose is sweet agave with freshly cut herbs and citrus nuances; the palate is delicate and harmonious — agave sweetness with a fruity twist; and the finish is clean, with a balanced citrus aftertaste and a velvety feel on the tongue.

How to Enjoy

Chilled and neat as a highland blanco should be tasted first, then in a margarita or paloma where its citrus finish carries the drink. More blancos are in our spirits collection.
