Pasote Tequila Extra Anejo is a 40% ABV (80 proof) limited-release extra añejo from Tequila El Tepozán (NOM 1584) in the Jalisco Highlands — 100% blue Weber agave, distilled with pure rainwater and natural spring water in 100% copper pot stills, then aged 48 months in ex-bourbon barrels (American white oak) stored in underground caves, per brand copy. Pasote lists no additives. The agave is grown on the Camarena Estate outside Jesús María. A 750mL bottle of deep, long-aged tequila. Order extra añejo online at Del Mesa Liquor, San Diego, CA.

Four Years Underground

Most extra añejos clear the three-year bar and stop; Pasote's goes 48 months in ex-bourbon oak, and the extra year matters. The nose runs roasted agave, vanilla, light citrus and grapefruit peel; the palate layers dried fruits, cinnamon, eucalyptus, honey, caramelized pineapple, vegetal agave, warming spice and toasty oak; the finish is long and sumptuous with a bright, tingling szechuan-spice note. Additive-free and copper-pot distilled, it's an agave-first extra añejo — the oak seasons the spirit without burying it. Find more Pasote tequilas and the extra añejo tequila collection.

How to Enjoy

Neat, always — at 48 months this is a contemplation pour. Serve in a copita or a wide-bowled rocks glass and let it open for a few minutes.
