Codigo 1530 Anejo is a 40% ABV (80 proof), 750mL añejo tequila rested 18 months in French white oak barrels that previously held Napa Valley Cabernet. Made from 100% fully matured blue Weber agave from Amatitán, in the Los Bajos lowlands of Jalisco, Mexico, it sits at the heart of the Codigo range — old enough for real barrel depth, young enough to keep the agave talking. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

Eighteen Months in Cabernet Wood

Codigo 1530 began as the private tequila of Amatitán families — an unnamed pour shared under "los códigos," the local codes — before Ron Snyder, Federico Vaughan and George Strait launched it publicly in 2016. The Añejo's Cabernet barrels are the house signature: French white oak that first aged Napa red wine lends the tequila a dark-fruit depth most ex-bourbon añejos never find. Explore more aged styles in our tequila collection, browse the wider spirits range, or visit the Codigo 1530 vendor page.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Fruit and vanilla over toasted oak. Palate: Oak, vanilla and warm spice in a smooth, full body. Finish: Balanced and lingering, agave and wine-barrel fruit in step.

How to Enjoy

Neat or on a single large cube; the Cabernet-cask depth also makes it a standout añejo Old Fashioned base.
