Rum Et Al Baseline Still Strength Rum is the Los Angeles distillery's unaged molasses rum bottled at the strength it leaves the still — a full 75% ABV (150 proof) — in a 375mL bottle. It starts life exactly like Baseline: 100% baking-grade molasses, a 2.5 to 3 week fermentation, and double pot distillation. The difference is what does not happen next: no water, no proofing down, nothing between the still and your glass.

  • ABV: 75% (150 proof)
  • Size: 375mL
  • Style: Unaged molasses rum, still strength
  • Origin: Rum Et Al Distillery, Los Angeles, California
  • Base: 100% baking-grade molasses
  • Distillation: Double pot distilled

The Story

Most white rums are proofed down to 40% before bottling, which means most of what you taste is water. Rum Et Al bottles Baseline at still strength so rum drinkers can taste the distillery's fermentation work undiluted — and proof it down themselves, a few drops at a time. It is the purest expression in the Baseline family, which includes the 49% Rum Et Al Baseline Rum on our shelves, and a natural companion to the dunder-driven Rum Et Al Variable Dunderclap Rum.

Tasting Notes

Cheese danish, dried raisins and figs, toffee and key lime oil on the nose. The palate is silky and oily for all its strength — dried fruit, toasted cinnamon bark, bitter cacao nibs and a grapefruit finish that refuses to quit.

How to Enjoy

Handle with respect: taste it in small sips, add water by the drop to find your own proof, or use a bar spoon's worth to supercharge a daiquiri. Explore more unaged intensity in our white rum and wider rum collection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is it 75% ABV?
That is the strength the spirit comes off the still — "still strength" means it was never diluted before bottling.

How should I drink something this strong?
In small pours, with water added gradually to taste — the flavors unfold as the proof comes down.

Is it the same rum as Baseline 49%?
Same molasses, fermentation and double pot distillation — bottled at 75% instead of proofed to 49%.
