Indri Diwali Collector's Edition Ruby Port Cask Single Malt Indian Whisky 2026
The Indri Diwali Collector's Edition 2026 is the fourth annual festive release from India's fastest-rising single malt distillery, and the rarest yet to reach the United States: a cask-strength single malt matured entirely in hand-selected Ruby Port casks from Portugal, bottled at 58.5% ABV with just 540 individually numbered bottles allocated to the US. Master Blender Surrinder Kumar crafted it in small batches from indigenous six-row Indian barley, distilled in traditional copper pot stills at the Indri distillery in Haryana, in the foothills of the Himalayas. The presentation box and bottle carry artwork by Indian designer Krsnaa Mehta, drawn from India's royal heritage and miniature painting tradition and centred on the Marwari horse. One of only 540 US bottles, it is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor while our small allocation lasts.

The 2026 Edition: Ruby Port Cask
Each Diwali Collector's Edition explores a different cask. After the peated Pedro Ximenez sherry casks of the 2023 debut and the Marsala finish of the 2025 edition, the 2026 release turns to Ruby Port, the youngest and most fruit-forward style of Port from the Douro Valley. The sweet red wine casks layer ripe berry fruit and confectionery depth over Indri's rich, barley-driven single malt, which matures fast in northern India's subtropical climate of hot summers and cool winters. Like the core Indri Trini and the peated Indri Agneya, it starts from indigenous six-row barley and traditional copper pot stills, but the Ruby Port maturation and full cask strength make this the most opulent bottling in the series.
Tasting Notes
The nose opens with black cherries, wild berries and ripe plums from the Port casks. The palate is silken and honeyed, with roasted nuts, toffee, vanilla and figs building through the mid-palate, and the finish is long, warm and fruity, the 58.5% cask strength carrying the dark fruit to the end.
How to Enjoy
Pour it neat in a tulip glass and give it a few minutes to open; a few drops of water will coax out more of the berry fruit without dulling the cask-strength richness. It is a celebration bottle built for Diwali gifting, festive dinners and collectors of world whisky, and it pairs beautifully with dark chocolate and spiced desserts.
