The Story

Fallen Barrel House exists for one reason: when a distillery closes, its barrels usually vanish into anonymity. Fallen Barrel buys and bottles those orphaned casks under their own name — "the last of it," as the back label puts it. R6 was a small Los Angeles distillery working with pot stills and a 95% local-grain philosophy, and this wheat whiskey is among the last chances to taste its work. It belongs in any serious survey of American whiskey.

Tasting Notes

Wheat leads with a soft, mellow sweetness — honey, vanilla and fresh bread — while nine years in new oak layer on caramel, cinnamon spice and dark cherry. The 134.6 proof heat stays surprisingly composed; it sips below its strength and finishes long with toasted oak.

How to Enjoy

Neat first, then with a few drops of water — wheated whiskey at cask strength opens beautifully. Set it beside a rye whiskey to taste how grain choice steers nine years in the same climate, and browse our wider whisky shelves for more single barrels.
