The Mule, Without the Bar Shift
A proper mule is a balancing act: enough ginger heat to bite, enough lime to stay bright, enough whiskey to keep it a cocktail. Cutwater builds theirs on its own bourbon, so the whiskey depth is real rather than implied — warm and oaky under the ginger's spice. At 7% ABV it sits in the sessionable zone: bolder than a seltzer, lighter than a bar pour. Tasting Notes
Spicy ginger leads — fresh, zesty heat — over warm bourbon depth, with fresh lime lifting the mid-palate and aromatic bitters adding spice on the finish. Crisp, refreshing, and genuinely cocktail-like.
How to Enjoy
Serve ice-cold, straight from the can or poured over ice — a lime wedge never hurts. It is the tailgate, boat, and backyard answer to a drink that usually takes a jigger, a muddler, and a copper mug.
