Created in partnership with the Chicago Rabbinical Council (cRc) — a program the distillery launched in 2010 with its first expressions released in 2020 — the Kosher Rye Recipe is made from the same high-quality grains as Buffalo Trace's standard bourbon, with special care taken so the whiskey never touches non-kosher spirits: the barrels were sold to a non-Jewish executive in a cRc-witnessed ceremony, and the bottling lines are fully cleaned before the run. Released once a year after Passover, it is kosher-certified but not kosher for Passover.
