Martini & Rossi Asti DOCG Sparkling Wine is a 7.5% ABV, 750mL sweet Italian spumante made from 100% Moscato Bianco grapes grown in the Asti DOCG hills of Piedmont. Its single tank fermentation is arrested early, so the wine keeps the grape's natural sweetness and fresh aromatics at a light alcohol level. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

A Piedmont Classic Since 1863

Martini & Rossi was founded in 1863 in Piedmont, and its Asti is built entirely on Moscato Bianco from the steep, sun-exposed hills of the Asti zone — fruit picked and pressed quickly, with the juice held cold until fermentation is started on demand. That arrested-fermentation approach is what makes Asti DOCG unlike any other sparkling wine: sweet, grapey and light rather than dry. Tasting Notes

Nose: Fresh grape, melon and peach with sweet wild sage and elderberry. Palate: Cool, fresh and sweet, with pear and pineapple joining the peach and a smooth, silky texture. Finish: Harmonious and refreshing, with the fruit lingering.

How to Enjoy

Serve it well chilled in a flute as an aperitivo or a sweet toast, pour it into a mimosa, or pair it with pastries, tarts, gelato, ripe fresh fruit and smooth cheeses such as fontina, ricotta or soft goat cheese.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Martini & Rossi Asti sweet or dry? Sweet — it is a dolce-style Moscato spumante. Fermentation is stopped early so natural grape sugar remains, which is also why the alcohol is only 7.5%.

Is Asti the same as Prosecco or Champagne? No. Asti DOCG is a Piedmont appellation for Moscato Bianco made by a single tank fermentation; Prosecco is principally Glera from Veneto and Friuli, and Champagne is bottle-fermented wine from the Champagne region of France.

Why is the alcohol so low? Because the single fermentation is deliberately arrested before the must's sugars are fully converted, leaving residual sweetness and a light 7.5% ABV.

For a sweet Italian toast at a gentle 7.5%, order Martini & Rossi Asti DOCG online from Del Mesa Liquor in San Diego, CA.
