Lochlea Sowing Edition Scotch Whisky
Lochlea Sowing Edition Scotch Whisky – Bright & Fresh Spring Lowland Single Malt
Lochlea Sowing Edition is a limited seasonal single malt from Lochlea Distillery in South Ayrshire — inspired by the energy and optimism of spring on the farm, when everything bursts into life as the barley seed is sown for the year. To capture this sense of freshness and renewal, Lochlea created a bright, fruit-packed dram matured exclusively in first-fill Bourbon barrels — the most vibrant and fruit-forward expression in the seasonal series.
Like all Lochlea expressions, it is made from 100% malted barley grown on the Lochlea farm, distilled on custom Forsyths copper pot stills, and bottled non-chill filtered with no added colouring.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Why is Sowing Edition bottled at 48% rather than 46%?
At 48% ABV, Sowing Edition is the highest proof in the Lochlea seasonal series — a deliberate choice to amplify the bright, vibrant fruit character of the first-fill Bourbon maturation and reflect the energy of spring on the farm.
How does Sowing Edition compare to the other seasonal releases?
Sowing (spring) is the brightest and most fruit-forward of the seasonal series. Ploughing (winter) is the smokiest. Harvest (late summer) is floral and sweet with Port influence. Fallow (autumn) is the richest and most Sherry-driven.
