Lochlea Ploughing Edition is a limited seasonal single malt from Lochlea Distillery in South Ayrshire — inspired by the depths of winter on the farm, when the fields are ploughed in preparation for sowing the barley seed in spring. To reflect the cold, frosty Ayrshire winters, Lochlea created a warm, smoky version of their signature whisky using ex-Islay barrels and peated quarter casks — dressed in an icy blue label that captures the season perfectly.
Like all Lochlea expressions, it is made from 100% malted barley grown on the Lochlea farm, distilled on custom Forsyths copper pot stills, and bottled non-chill filtered with no added colouring.
