Sangria, Already Sparkling — a Temecula Party Bottle
Wilson Creek is the family-owned Temecula winery founded by Gerry and Rosie Wilson — the family bought the land in 1996 and opened the winery in 2000 — and its flavoured sparkling range began, in the winery's telling, with customers describing their own mixes of the famed Almond Sparkling with fruit juices. This Sangria is the winery's own bottled answer: a classic cuvee-style sparkler given a Southern Mediterranean-inspired sangria profile, grouped by the winery with its Peach Bellini, Orange Mimosa and Almond cousins. Find it on the Wilson Creek vendor page and in our sparkling wine collection.
Tasting Notes
Per the winery's tasting sheet: a purple-violet fuchsia colour with small, persistent bubbles and a light mousse; citrus zest — lemon, lime and orange — over ripe red berries, cranberry and pomegranate with a hint of blood orange; lingering sweet berries, citrus and spice on a smooth finish, the sweetness balanced by acidity.
How to Enjoy
Serve well chilled, straight from the bottle — it is already a built sangria. The winery pours it at dinner parties and poolside, and pairs it with Pepper Jack and other soft, pungent cheeses, spicy food, tapas, calamari, fried shrimp and spicy meatballs. More warm-weather bottles are in our wine collection.
