Wild Barrel opened in San Marcos on 30 September 2017 on a 15-barrel brewhouse, pairing a sour programme with hop-forward ales, and later added a Temecula tasting room. Hop Obsession was its flagship hazy release — and not its later Hop Obsession 2.0 variant, which carried a different Mosaic and Cryo hop bill.
