Old World Style, Sonoma Fruit

Lisa Vanderpump built her wine label the way she built her restaurants — hospitality first. After the family's Provence rosé launched the brand in 2017, the California line followed in 2020 with Palm Bay International: this Cabernet, made with winemaker Tom Hinde, is the flagship red, explicitly framed as Old World styling over California fruit. The fruit is hand-sorted and fully destemmed to small stainless tanks, cold-soaked, warmly fermented with twice-daily pump-overs, then basket-pressed and rested 18 months in French oak — a deliberate, classic Bordeaux-shaped process applied to Sonoma Valley and Alexander Valley grapes. Browse the house on the Vanderpump Wines vendor page, and compare its French sibling, Vanderpump Rosé.

Tasting Notes

Per the producer: a deep ruby colour; a nose of dark fruits — blueberry, rich plum and red raspberry; and a palate carried by lush tannins into a long, elegant finish.

How to Enjoy

The producer's own pairings are steak, grilled meats and portobello mushrooms — anything with char and fat for the tannins to work against. Give it 30 minutes of air after opening and serve at cool room temperature. More California reds are in our red wine collection.
