French Oak in the Los Valles

Tres Mujeres is a family distillery on the highway outside Amatitan, in the valley country where tequila began — the house's name, its founder Don Jesus Partida Melendez explained, honours "the three lovely ladies in my family." Its reposado is the range's rested middle: the blanco's agave character given a French-oak frame, long enough for vanilla and honey to arrive, short enough that the cooked agave still leads. Browse the range on the Tres Mujeres vendor page or see more reposado tequila.

Tasting Notes

From the brand's official cata sheet: a bright pour with gold and copper sparkles. Nose: Vanilla, cooked agave and plum. Palate: Vanilla, oak and honey with fruity touches.

How to Enjoy

The brand suggests pasta, meat or snacks alongside it. Neat or with a single cube it shows its oak; in a reposado margarita or a Paloma it brings more depth than a blanco can.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is it aged? The brand states no month count — its sheet specifies French oak barrels from different regions. Retailer figures (6 months, 6–9 months) conflict with each other, so none is printed; the reposado class itself means at least two months and less than a year in oak.

Has it won awards? Yes — it is listed among the Distinguished Platinum winners in the SIP Awards' own 2011 press release.

How strong is it? 40% ABV (80 proof) in this US bottling.
