Dufftown's Seventh Distillery, Built for Approachability
Glendullan was the seventh distillery built in Dufftown, raised in 1897 by William Williams & Sons beside the Dullan Water in the Conval Hills — and within five years its whisky had found favour at the court of King Edward VII. Its large, onion-shaped stills produce a light, delicate spirit with a green-apple brightness, and Glendullan's Singleton expression — one of Diageo's three Singleton distilleries, originally destined for the North American market — is matured to show that freshness off: bourbon-cask fruit and honey first, the European oak adding its gentle depth beneath. See the range on the The Singleton vendor page and in our Scotch whisky collection.
Tasting Notes
Per Diageo's notes: a fresh, light, clean nose with fruitiness, scented leather, subtle sandalwood and vanilla; a light-to-medium body that turns spicy at first, then soft and sweet, with citrus, raisins, vanilla and a hint of honey; and a short, creamy, smooth finish.
How to Enjoy
Neat or over ice as an everyday Speyside pour; Diageo's own US serving suggestion is a Rob Roy with sweet vermouth and bitters. More Speyside malts are in our whisky collection and across our spirits collection.
