The Macallan Estate Scotch Whisky
The Macallan Estate Scotch Whisky is a 750mL Speyside single malt bottled at 43% ABV (86 proof), released in 2019 as the Whisky Maker's tribute to The Macallan's home. It contains rare spirit distilled from a proportion of the barley grown at Easter Elchies — the 485-acre estate on the River Spey where The Macallan has distilled since 1824 — spirit made just once a year over the course of a single week, and matured in sherry-seasoned oak. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

A Tribute to Easter Elchies, The Macallan's Home
Created by Whisky Maker Sarah Burgess, The Macallan Estate celebrates the provenance no other Macallan can claim: barley grown in the estate's own fields below the distillery, on the banks of the River Spey. That home-grown spirit — distilled in a single week each year — is married into a whisky matured exclusively in sherry-seasoned oak, and the presentation matches the idea: a gift box with a hand-cut slate panel and aerial photography of the estate barley fields inside. Tasting Notes
Per The Macallan: a conker-chestnut colour; warm cinnamon, wood spice and orange oil over dried fruit, sweet lemon, banana and caramel; a soft, warming palate of wood spice, dry oak, candied raisin and fresh fig; a finish of sweet fresh orange and delicate citrus — citrus balancing the traditional sherried richness.
How to Enjoy
Neat in a tulip glass, rested a few minutes — a whisky about provenance deserves a slow pour. More Speyside single malts are in our whisky collection.
Frequently Asked Questions
What makes The Macallan Estate different from other Macallans?
It contains spirit distilled from a proportion of the barley grown on The Macallan's own Easter Elchies estate — barley distilled just once a year, over a single week — which no other Macallan bottling carries.
How old is The Macallan Estate?
It carries no age statement. The Macallan released it in 2019 as an estate tribute, not an age-stated bottling.
What casks mature The Macallan Estate?
Sherry-seasoned oak — reported at launch as exclusively sherry-seasoned butts and hogsheads, giving the citrus-over-sherried-richness profile the brand describes.
