The Macallan Diamonds Are Forever 55th Anniversary Release Scotch Whisky
45.5% ABV (91 proof) | 18 years old, distilled 2007 | 700mL | James Bond collaboration — The Macallan Diamonds Are Forever 55th Anniversary Release is the second chapter of The Macallan × James Bond collaboration: an 18-year-old Scotch whisky marking 55 years since the 1971 film Diamonds Are Forever (1971 + 55 = 2026).
Crafted by Whisky Maker Russell Greig, this is the first Macallan expression ever to use American oak casks previously holding red wine — alongside sherry-seasoned European and American oak. The 45.5% ABV is a deliberate nod to the "55th" anniversary. The bottle and presentation pack draw directly from the film's production art in the official Bond archives — the laser-beam satellite, the opening title sequence — in a natural "Nevada Rock" colour evoking the Nevada desert and Las Vegas setting. The Macallan's long association with cinema (the whisky has appeared in 290+ productions) became an official Bond partnership in 2022 with the James Bond 60th Anniversary Collection. A collector-grade rare top-shelf spirit, available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.
Tasting notes
Per the official release: sweet polished oak, vanilla bean, and rich dried fruits on the nose. The palate brings creamy vanilla, caramel, cocoa-dusted champagne truffles, coffee, figs, berries, apricots, and subtle nutmeg spice — finishing long and refined with lingering warmth.
