Teeling Small Batch Irish Whiskey
Teeling Small Batch Irish Whiskey is a 750mL blended Irish whiskey bottled at 46% ABV, triple distilled and non-chill-filtered. It is a grain-led blend of grain and malt whiskeys first aged in ex-bourbon barrels, then married together in Central American rum casks for up to twelve months — the rum wood laying dried fruit and vanilla over the blend's floral softness. The flagship of the Teeling revival and the brothers' first release, it took Best Blended Irish Whiskey at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2015. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

The Blend That Restarted Dublin Whiskey
When Jack and Stephen Teeling set out to revive their family's Dublin whiskey name — in the business since Walter Teeling's Marrowbone Lane distillery of 1782 — Small Batch was the calling card, launched years before their Liberties distillery opened in 2015 as the city's first new distillery in over 125 years. Its signature is the marriage: grain and malt whiskeys, bourbon-cask aged, are blended and then rested together in rum casks, so the components marry in rum wood rather than merely meeting in the bottle. The result is the most cocktail-versatile whiskey in the range and the natural first Teeling to own. Its siblings wait on the Teeling vendor page and in our Irish whiskey collection.
Tasting Notes
Teeling's notes describe a floral, herbal nose with vanilla sweetness, rum-raisin and allspice; a creamy palate of vanilla, dried fruit — raisin and apricot — and warming spice; and a long finish of lingering sweetness, spice and oak.
How to Enjoy
Neat, on the rocks, or in a Whiskey Sour or Irish Coffee where the rum-cask fruit earns its keep. Build out the serve from our spirits collection.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the blend ratio in Teeling Small Batch?
Teeling does not officially publish it. It is a grain-led blend — a higher share of grain whiskey than a standard Irish blend, balanced with malt — and published figures from secondary sources conflict, so treat any exact ratio with caution.
How long is Teeling Small Batch finished in rum casks?
Up to twelve months, per Teeling's current official description. The blended whiskeys are married in Central American rum casks after their initial ex-bourbon ageing.
Is Teeling Small Batch chill-filtered?
No — like the rest of the core range it is non-chill-filtered and bottled at 46% ABV, above the 40% category standard.
