Teeling Single Malt Irish Whiskey
Teeling Single Malt Irish Whiskey is a 750mL single malt bottled at 46% ABV, triple distilled from 100% malted barley and non-chill-filtered. Rather than a single cask style, Teeling vattes malts finished across five different cask types — including Port and Madeira wine casks — so the whiskey layers tropical fruit and berries over the soft, fruity malt character Dublin distilling is known for. It carries no age statement; the vatting marries malts of varying ages, a recipe that has collected Double Golds at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2020 and 2022. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

Dublin's Revival, Distilled from Malt Alone
The Teeling family has been in Dublin whiskey since Walter Teeling set up on Marrowbone Lane in 1782, and brothers Jack and Stephen Teeling reopened the city's distilling story in 2015 with the first new Dublin distillery in over 125 years, in the Liberties. The Single Malt is the purist of the core range: nothing but malted barley, triple distilled, then finished across a spread of casks so the blender — Master Distiller Alex Chasko — can tune fruit against spice. It drinks richer than its years suggest, which is the point of the recipe. Meet its grain and blended siblings on the Teeling vendor page and tour the category in our Irish whiskey collection.
Tasting Notes
Teeling's current notes describe tropical fruits, caramelised sugar, oak spice and ginger on the nose; chocolate, mixed berries and orchard fruit on the palate; and a long, luxurious finish of passionfruit and pineapple.
How to Enjoy
Neat, or with a few drops of water to open the tropical fruit. Single-malt drinkers crossing over from Scotch will feel at home. More Irish malts are in our whisky collection.
Frequently Asked Questions
What casks is Teeling Single Malt finished in?
Five different cask types, including Port and Madeira wine casks. Teeling's published cask list has changed between the whiskey's launch material and its current website, so the bottle's back label is the definitive list for any given bottling.
How old is Teeling Single Malt?
It carries no age statement. The recipe vattes malts of different ages — at launch Teeling noted the vatting included older stock distilled as far back as 1991.
Is Teeling Single Malt chill-filtered?
No — it is bottled non-chill-filtered at 46% ABV, keeping the full texture of the malt.
