Stone Brewing Buenaveza Salt & Lime Lager is a 4.7% ABV lager in a 6-pack of 12oz cans, brewed with lime and sea salt. Stone describes it as a Baja-inspired, Mexican-style lager — its name joins "Buena" (good) with "-veza" from cerveza — born in Southern California at Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens – Liberty Station in San Diego, and the first Stone Pilot Series beer to graduate to a year-round release. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

The Pilot Series Beer That Went Year-Round

Stone was founded in San Marcos in 1996 by Greg Koch and Steve Wagner, and became famous for big, bitter, uncompromising beers — which is exactly why Buenaveza matters: created by brewer Ben Sheehan at the Liberty Station brewpub in San Diego, it is Stone's crisp, salt-and-lime refresher, and it proved so popular in its 2019 California preview that it became the Pilot Series' first year-round graduate in spring 2020. Tasting Notes

Appearance: Light straw, very clear, thin white head, per Stone. Nose: Clean, dominated by fresh-squeezed lime with a slight corn-chip note. Palate: Lime throughout with a touch of sweet malt; ultra-crisp and balanced, with slight tartness, light bitterness and a refreshing, drying finish.

How to Enjoy

Serve it ice cold, straight from the can — this is a beach, taco-truck and backyard lager. The built-in lime and salt mean no wedge and no shaker required.
